About this experience
The wetlands, scrub and farmland around Jodhpur are rich in birdlife, and in winter they are joined by visitors from Central Asia - most famously the Demoiselle cranes that gather in their thousands in the region.
Go out with binoculars and a camera to look for painted storks and woolly-necked storks, birds of prey perched on desert trees, and bright resident species such as rollers and woodpeckers. Our own leafy gardens are a good place to start, too.
