Arrived at school I met some men of the local community who came specially to assist to the ceremony. It was after this warm welcoming that the ceremony started.

 

15th of August is a special day in India as it is the commemoration of its Independence. Teaching English as a volunteer in a school thanks to a programme organized by the family of Mandore Guest House, I had the great privilege to assist to the ceremony.

 
First a homage for Saraswati was payed. It was a chance for me to have the opportunity to participate to this holy ritual, which occurs in all schools on Independent’s day.
 

 
To close the ceremony a distribution of some scholar material was done as well as bananas and sweets that were given to each student.
